Our Module 1 Student Karen gives her insight into what her first work experience was like.

Hi Everyone,
My name is Karen Casserly. I am currently a student at The Makeup Crew studying Module One, Makeup and Skin care.
Throughout the course there have been many interesting opportunities to gain work experience, which is excellent and ¬†gives you a great insight in to what it’s like working in the Makeup Industry and what it’s like to work on your own initiative.
I was lucky enough to take part in the work experience video shoot for Griffith College graduate collections.
I must admit it was nerve racking, it was my first time doing something like this with no tutors to guide me, however I amazed myself, I got through it just fine and I enjoyed every minute. It has really boosted my confidence and given me more hunger to work in the industry.
I had 3 female and 1 male model. It was my first time to do makeup on a male, so I was delighted to gain that experience.
The look I had to do was day makeup for a natural beauty look to enhance the models natural beauty. Over  all I was really happy with my finished looks.
I cannot wait to go back for the next Photo shoot in June. It was wonderful learning experience and really clarified for me how good the Makeup Crew is as a college and the opportunities they provide their students. I am really excited about my future career in the Makeup Industry.
